‡ Medieval Fair & Veil Tutorial

I did a lot of costume prepping this time even adding period embroidery.

The goal for me was to create a more Kypchak inspired outfit this time. Though my Reenactment always claimed Birka as location, I am a Viking with Kypchak roots and use elements of both cultures to be exact ;)
This sort of veil is still worn by the Bashkir of Russia and sometimes also the Tatars. This sort of jacket/coat is still worn by most turkic peoples in sometimes a modernized version. It was also very popular among the Rus Vikings.

The kid's costumes were made of fabric scraps!

My veil went back a bit more than planned but it was so heavy!
